Do You Have a Favorite Saint?
Mine is St. Teresa of Avila... opened up a mystical world to me, a world of true union with God. I like her so much. She's just so wonderful and wise.
Would you tell me who your favorite saint is and why? Thank you to all who reply.

I love Joan of Arc, kasing edad lang natin sya, kung hindi ako nagkakamali, nineteen years old, but still marami tulong ang kanyang nagawa sa French during her time, including ang victory para maging king si Charles VII.

Nothing specific to call centre workers exists, but St Clare of Assisi and St Gabriel both have claims to be patron saint of the telephone (Gabriel is patron saint of communications). St Expeditus is the patron saint of e-commerce and procrastinators.
Millions of people now work in call-centres. They spend all day being insulted by a disgruntled public, conditions are poor (toilet breaks timed or worse denied), and pay is derisory. If only there was someone taking care of these people from above, offering succour and hope of future salvation from their Dickensian misery. I'm sure God would approve, we just need a candidate or a name for him/her.

c St. Bernadette poh.....
Bernadette Soubirous is the saint of Lourdes, France. Visionary and messenger of the Immaculate Conception, she told us the very words of the Virgin Mary, spoken in the native Basque tongue of Southern France and Northern Spain. She spoke words teaching of the merits of prayer, penance, poverty and church. In the first and most widely recognized Marian apparition of modern times, a personal message was delivered also to Bernadette—She would not find happiness in this world, but only in the next.
She was to die twenty–one years later in 1879 after a prolonged and painful illness. She remained hidden in a convent about 300 miles from home, a refuge from the interrogations and the pilgrims that never ceased seeking her. At thirty–five, her strong–willed manner gave way to her frail body, and she finally entered into her eternal happiness.
While she took with her the knowledge of certain secrets the Virgin gave her, one secret remained hidden in our presence. The most spectacular of all the incorruptibles, Bernadette's miraculously preserved body remained buried in a damp grave for thirty years until the cause for beatification was taken up. To this day, the body of Bernadette is a profound source of inspiration and of mystery surrounding the ways of the Lord. The face of Bernadette is one of surreal beauty, and will remain for us always the face that gazed into the eyes of the Mother of God.

The saints are presented to believers as role models whose lives are worthy to be imitated.
Heb 6:12
... so that you may not become sluggish, but imitators of those who, through faith and patience, are inheriting the promises.
Heb 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us
1 Cor 11:1
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
Phil 3:17
Join with others in being imitators of me, brothers, and observe those who thus conduct themselves according to the model you have in us.
Catholic Church speaks: Council of Vatican II, On the Church, No. 50,
For when we look at the lives of those who have faithfully followed Christ, we are inspired with a new reason for seeking the city which is to come (Heb 13:14; 11:10). At the same time we are shown a most safe path by which ... we will be able to arrive at perfect union with Christ, that is holiness. In the lives of those who shared in our humanity and yet were transformed into especially successfully images of Christ (2 Cor 3:18), God vividly manifests to men his presence and his face. He speaks to us in them, and gives us a sign of his kingdom, to which we are powerfully drawn, surrounded as we are by so many witnesses (Heb 12:1), and having such an argument for the truth of the gospel.

Sure thing, ricxz. We are all called to be "imitators of Christ".
My most (though I respect them equally) favorite saint is St. Therese of the Child Jesus. Also, St. Padre Pio is also one of my favorite saints. Sobrang inspiring lang yung kanilang kwento.
